Casa Plac

Via Leonardo da Vinci 78 · 47043 Gatteo (FC)

In the middle, not out of the way.

Casa Plac is in Gatteo, inland: not in Gatteo a Mare, which is the hamlet on the coast, 7.3 km away. It sits halfway between the motorway exit and the sea, which is why from here you can reach everywhere in half an hour.

6minutes A14 exit Valle del Rubicone, 4.2 km

More than where we are,
what matters is what's around you.

An address on its own tells you nothing if you're not from here. What you need to know is something else: what you can reach from this front door, and how long it takes. From here on, this page answers only that.

Romagna, measured in minutes

On the map every place sits in its true geographic direction; the distance from the center shows the minutes it takes to get there by car.

Polar diagram: Casa Plac at the centre, the Adriatic Sea to the north-east, concentric rings at 10, 20, 30 and 40 minutes by car. Each place sits in its true geographical direction — A14 motorway junction 6 minutes, Gatteo a Mare 9, Bellaria and Cesenatico 14, Santarcangelo 17, Italia in Miniatura and Longiano 18, Cesena and Rimini 23, Cervia and Aquafan with Oltremare 24, Riccione 26, Mirabilandia 35, San Marino 42, San Leo 47.

This site doesn't load maps from other services: nobody is tracked while reading these pages. The two links above only open if you tap them yourself.

The advantage isn't being close to one thing.
It's being close to all of them.

Take a house on the seafront and you're close to one beach and far from everything else: in summer, going anywhere means queueing on the coast road. Take the hills and you get the view, and pay for the sea on every trip.

Here the sand is 9 minutes away and the motorway exit 6. Fourteen gets you to Cesenatico or Bellaria, seventeen to Santarcangelo. Rimini and Cesena are both twenty-three minutes away, in opposite directions: that's the symmetry you don't get at the far end of the coast, and it's why a week here doesn't turn into the same day seven times over. Four ways to use
this location

The sea, the theme parks, the cities, the hill towns. They're not four catalogues: they're four different days, all starting and ending in the same place.

From 9 to 33 minutes

The sea

Nine minutes and you're on the sand at Gatteo a Mare, Blue Flag 2026. Eleven to Villamarina. Fourteen to Cesenatico, in front of the canal harbour Leonardo surveyed in 1502, or to Bellaria-Igea Marina. Twenty-four to Cervia, where behind the sun loungers there's a salt marsh with flamingos.

These beaches are not alike: the one with the play areas isn't the one with the loud music, and nobody makes you return to the same parasol for seven days.

The sea, beach by beach

From 17 to 40 minutes

The theme parks

Eight parks, all doable in a day and all different: the slides at Aquafan are not the dolphins at Oltremare, and Mirabilandia is not Fiabilandia. The furthest is Safari Ravenna, forty minutes away: you leave after breakfast and you're back for dinner. There's also Atlantica in Cesenatico (17), Fiabilandia (25) and the Cattolica Aquarium (34).

18minutes Italia in Miniatura Viserba di Rimini
24minutes Aquafan Riccione
24minutes Oltremare Riccione
35minutes Mirabilandia Savio di Ravenna

Which park, for which age

From 23 to 26 minutes

The cities

Rimini is twenty-three minutes away: the Arch of Augustus dates from 27 BC and the Tiberius Bridge still carries traffic after two thousand years. Riccione, with viale Ceccarini, is twenty-six.

Cesena is in the opposite direction, also twenty-three: the Malatesta Library has come down intact from the fifteenth century, with its desks, its codices and its chains, and is on the UNESCO Memory of the World register.

Cervia, twenty-four minutes away, is a town built from scratch in 1698 on the Pope's orders: the Quadrilatero of the salt workers' houses is still there.

From 17 to 47 minutes

The hill towns

Santarcangelo is seventeen minutes away and has a second town underneath the houses: over a hundred and fifty caves dug into the hill. Longiano at eighteen, with its Malatesta castle and the plain visible all the way to the sea.

San Marino, at forty-two, is another country, with its own border post and the three towers on Monte Titano. San Leo at forty-seven: the fortress on top of the crag where Cagliostro died a prisoner. The road is all bends, and the time above is the real one.

Eight days already planned
The fortress of San Leo on its crag, with the Marecchia valley behind
San Leo, forty-seven minutes: the furthest place on this page, and still only half a day out.

Six minutes,
and you're on the motorway.

The Valle del Rubicone exit is the town's own: 4.2 km, not one of those that leaves you twenty kilometres from your bed. If you arrive on Friday evening and leave on Sunday, that's extra holiday on every trip.

By car

Valle del Rubicone exit

From the A14 Bologna-Ancona, exit at Valle del Rubicone: 4.2 km, about six minutes. Coming from the north, the alternative is Cesena Nord, 20.7 km away. Parking at Casa Plac is free.

By train

Gatteo a Mare station

The nearest station is on the Adriatic line, between Cesenatico and Bellaria, 6.8 km from the house. For the last stretch you'll need a lift or a taxi: it's not walkable. From there, with no changes, you can reach Cesenatico, Rimini, Riccione, Cattolica and the stop for Mirabilandia. Cesena is 21 km away, Rimini 26.

By plane

Bologna or Forlì

Bologna Marconi has the most flights: 107 km, an hour and a quarter, all on the motorway. Forlì is closer, 41 km and 34 minutes. Rimini Fellini is 32 km away, but the road is slow: allow three quarters of an hour. Ancona Falconara: 114 km.

All the distances on this page are measured by car on the OpenStreetMap road network, place by place, as of August 2026. They're not rough estimates. In August, on weekends and during trade fairs, travel times get longer. Check-in times, keys and parking

Who benefits
from being in the middle

A location doesn't suit everyone in the same way. Here's who it really works for, and with which numbers.

Families

Nine minutes from the beach means coming home for lunch and a nap, and going back in the afternoon. Supermarket 2.5 km away, pharmacy 3.1: with a small child, the difference between a problem and an errand. The seaside with children

Couples

In the evening you choose between the canal harbour at Cesenatico, fourteen minutes away, and Santarcangelo, seventeen; then you come back to a hamlet where nobody goes past after eleven. What there is around

People who want to see things

You change direction every day without repacking: the sea to the north and to the south, the parks towards Riccione and towards Ravenna, the cities and hill towns inland. None of these trips takes more than fifty minutes. The long guides in the journal

People travelling by car

The motorway exit six minutes away, free parking under the house, and the places people drive to Romagna for: Rimini Fiera and the Palacongressi at twenty-two minutes, Technogym Village at seventeen, the Cesena trade fair at twenty-three. Ask before you set off

The town, for everyday things

You don't need to get on the motorway to buy bread.

How long the shopping takes

We're in the municipality of Gatteo, not in Gatteo a Mare: the supermarket is 2.5 km away, four minutes by car, and the pharmacy 3.1 km, five minutes.

On foot it's a good half hour, so we'd rather give you the distances than say "just a stone's throw away": the center of Gatteo, with its castle, is 4.3 km away, seven minutes. What Gatteo is

The weekly markets

The market is the simplest way to shop the way people do here, bringing home fruit and vegetables instead of yet another dinner out. The Sant'Angelo market is held on Wednesday mornings, in Piazza Arturo Fracassi: you can walk there and back.

Sant'Angelo Piazza Arturo Fracassi — the closest Wednesday
Gatteo Piazza Antonio Vesi Thursday
Gatteo a Mare from 7 to 13 Monday
Savignano sul Rubicone historic center, 184 stalls Tuesday
Cesenatico all year round Friday
Santarcangelo the big one: 181 stalls in the center Friday

Days and locations from the municipal websites and the Emilia-Romagna Region's trade observatory, verified in August 2026. In summer the streets change in Gatteo a Mare.
